5 Celebrities Who Have Had Laser Tattoo Removal

Tattoos are a popular trend these days, and it isn’t just “regular” people who are getting them. Celebrities are no strangers to inking their bodies with everything from the names of their children, spouses and parents to idols, animals, and symbols. But as with any decision, there is always the chance of regret when dealing with tattoos which may cause the need to remove them. Many celebrities have undergone the removal process, and for good reason.

Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen
When this couple got together, Charlie had his wife’s name tattooed on his wrist. Denise in return got Charlie’s name on her body. Like many celebrity couples, their marriage ended, leaving them with the tattoos as constant reminders of their time together. While Sheen’s tattoo was removed at his new wife’s request, Richards simply covered her tattoo with another one. Denise’s name is not the only one of Sheen’s many tattoos that he has had removed – these include a samurai, the New York Yankees symbol, a zipper, and a pair of angel wings.
Kelly Osbourne
Though the world watched her grow up as the daughter of world-famous Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly decided to make a name for herself by creating a totally unique identity both in personality and style. Over the years, she got fifteen tattoos as a way of acting out against her parents, and showing them that she was her own person. As she grew older, Osbourne’s image changed from that of a surly, sometimes bratty teenager to a more sophisticated and elegant young woman. Many of her tattoos were visible even when she was fully clothed, and Osbourne made the decision to have “most” of her tattoos removed – another way to completely change her image.

50 Cent
This rapper is known not only for his violent past, but the ink that covers large areas of his body. Not only did 50 – whose real name is Curtis Jackson – have a large tattoo on his back, but he had his arms covered with sleeve tattoos. As his career evolved from rapper to actor, Jackson realized that spending hours in the make up chair was not worth it, and began the process of removing many of his visible arm tattoos.

Britney Spears
Admittedly, Spears had a rough couple of years that was littered with meltdowns, hospital visits, dramatic appearance changes, and tattoos. Spears got many things inked on her body during this time including a fairy, lips, dice, but Hebrew lettering on the back of her neck reading “mem,” “hey” and “shin” was from 2004. To symbolize that she realized that her life was out of control, and she needed to get it back on track, Spears had the lettering removed in 2008.
