Living with Scars

Most of us have suffered some cuts or scrapes that resulted in some scar on our body.  Sometimes we’re OK with them — the patch of light skin on our elbow that reminds us of learning to ride a bike but was not caused by anyone’s negligence and doesn’t get in the way of everyday life.  However, although scars are fairly commonplace, sometimes they are more serious.  They can be difficult to deal with emotionally, and may even prevent us from getting the job we want or functioning how we would like to socially.

Complications

Scars can be difficult for us to bear under any circumstances, but they can be especially difficult if they remind us of an emotionally painful event.  There are sometimes medical complications that make things more difficult physically and require ongoing care, which can be costly depending on the extent of the injury.  These can include ulceration, keloid scars, overgrowth beyond the area of injury, difficulty with normal movement, or disfigurement.

No one wants to be reminded of a painful event.  When the scars from an accident are on our skin, we must face them every day.  Furthermore, painful complications and the reactions of other people can make them difficult to bear.  If you are dealing with painful scarring that was caused by someone else’s negligence, you may be entitled to financial compensation.  The Danville personal injury lawyers of Spiros Law, P.C., are here to help.  Give us a call today at 217-443-4343 to learn about your legal options.
