Warranty Violations
Consumers who buy products often are given warranties with those products. To extend the life of the warranty, many companies allow consumers to buy extensions, which elongate the protection period buyers have over the products they buy.
Unfortunately, when it comes time to make a warranty claim, some individuals may find that companies will not honor their warranties. This may apply both to the original warranties and the extended warranty. In either case, this denial may be a warranty violation.
Companies may give several reasons to justify their actions. They may say certain actions void the warranty or that the damage to a consumer’s product is not covered under the warranty, even if neither of these claims is true.
Chances are, companies that wrongly deny one consumer’s warranty claim are wrongly denying several consumers’ warranty claims. If this is the case, the wronged consumers can band together to file a class action lawsuit against the responsible company.
Filing a class action lawsuit has many advantages. For one, several people can have their claims settled at once, cutting down the time it takes for wronged individuals to get compensated. Additionally, the wronged individuals can split legal costs, lowering the amount that each person owes to lawyers.
Every person in a class action lawsuit will receive the same settlement. In the case of warranty violations, individuals may receive warranty repairs and legal fees at the minimum and may be able to fight for punitive damages on top of that compensation.
Individuals looking to file class action lawsuits are advised to bring their cases to experienced class action lawsuit lawyers for legal advice and guidance.
